Tour Description: Departure in the morning to the coastal town of Sitia which is located at the eastern
point of the northern coast of Crete, home of the famous poet Vincenzo Cornaro.
Then we will visit the most impressive monastery of the 14th century the monastery Toplou, one of the most
important and beautiful monasteries in Crete which has a priceless collection of Byzantine
You can buy the products at the monastery during our visit(wine,oil and raki).
We will leave back the legendary monastery to visit the paradise Palm Forest in Vai,
the largest colony in Europe with 5,000 trees. According to the legend, palms had
sprouted from the seeds of dates that pirates from Africa had thrown.
However, the palm has 2000 years of age, so it can not confirm this conjecture. Nowadays the theory replaced the pirate ships with Phoenician ones, 20 centuries back.
